Deep Trees didn’t grow overnight. Somewhere between an old keyboard, a shoebox full of lyrics, and a mild
obsession
with vintage reverb, the project took root in the daydreams of a misfit.
The sound? Think nostalgia dipped in neon—lo-fi heartache with hi-fi polish—wrapped in a synth-heavy hug and
seen
through a soft-focus lens.
Deep Trees is the curated musical project of songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Summer Redko, who got her
start as
a sound engineer for major labels and top-tier studios, with dozens of film and TV credits quietly stacking up
behind the scenes. There’s a cosmic yearning in her work, and a refusal to ever call a track
“done.”
Her debut EP,
Smoking in Airports, is a delicate balance of digital and human. Collaborating with
industry
heavy hitters like drummer Nik Hughes (Bush, Andy Grammer, Puddle of Mud), bassist Luca Giachi (Sony/BMG,
Universal), and horn player Victor Mejia (when the stars—and budgets—align), the music carries traces of
heartbreak,
euphoria, and that weird feeling you get watching old home videos.
Follow for the vibes, stay for the feels.
